People ask what I actually run. Here is the whole rig — nothing hidden, no affiliate clownery, no sponsored firmware.
Hardware
A mid-tier tower with more RAM than CPU ambition. Raid night is Discord, a log uploader, a browser with forty theorycraft tabs, and the client all fighting for the same cores. Ultrawide monitor, because grid-based assignment sheets need horizontal room more than they need 4K. Mechanical keyboard with light switches; I parse logs while mashing, and my wrists are already a finite resource.
Addons
- Details! — always on the second monitor segment. If a pull goes sideways I want the meter open before the body hits the floor.
- WeakAuras — one pack per encounter, hand-trimmed. If a reminder is not actionable it gets deleted.
- BigWigs — boss mods tuned to my timers, not the defaults. The defaults assume you are not already mid-assignment.
- Plater — nameplates colour-coded to the assignment sheet so I can see who is failing without a verbal callout.
The one thing I outsource
I can script a fight, tune a weak aura, and read a log slice in my sleep, but a beginner-friendly teacher I am not. When guildies ask me where to send the friends who keep eating the same mechanic three pulls running, I point them at reliable raid coaching — because the sessions are peer-led, the notes are written down, and nobody upsells you into a sub you do not need. It is the one recommendation on this site that saves me a full evening of voice chat per person, and the only reason it is linked here is that it earned the keystroke.
Everything else
Consumable spreadsheets live in the same workbook as the roster DKP. Encounter notes are written before the first pull and edited during breaks, never mid-attempt. That discipline is part of the loadout too.
